BACKGROUND
Tanzania is one of five countries that together form the East African region. Tanzania has two bar associations which are members of the East Africa Law Society: the Zanzibar Law Society and the Tanganyika Law Society. Tanzania has ratified the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
