The Office of Public Counsel for Defense was created pursuant to Regulation 77 of the Regulations of the Court with a mandate to represent and protect the rights of the Defense. The goal of the Office is to reinforce the equality of arms and to enable a fair trial as outlined in the Rome Statute.
