Legal Defenders protect citizens who are accused of crimes and can not defend themselves. Legal Defenders ensure that all parties participating in the legal process carefully follow the laws that grant rights to all citizens. The Constitution of Vietnam, Article 71, provides that, "The citizen shall enjoy inviolability of the person and the protection of the law with regard to his life, health, honor and dignity." Legal Defenders use the protection of the law in aid of their clients.

The duty of legal defenders

Legal Defenders have the duty to protect their client's interest within the limits of the law. Legal Defenders use their knowledge of the laws to protect all citizens accused of crimes. The Legal Defender shall never waiver from the protection of their client.
