BACKGROUND
Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous island nation that merged with with Tanganyika to form Tanzania in 1964. Zanzibar has a population of a little over a million people. Lawyers in Zanzibar are members of the Zanzibar Law Society which in turn is a member organization of the East Africa Law Society.
